This is another Indaba Music contest entry. The grand prize for this one is $250. First of all is the fade-in on the percussion. My mix is centered around the new walking bassline. I was leaning toward not doing anything with guitars, since the bass gave it a smooth, jazzy feel. Being a rocker (actually a metalhead) I recorded a heavily distorted guitar track first. Then I used a cleaner sound with a flanger effect for the second guitar. I also edited one of the vocal tracks, shifting portions of it down a fourth (to the melody's fifth). Shifting it upward made it sound like Alvin and the Chipmunks were singing along with Tiff! The synth track also has an upper and lower octave mixed in.

Everything's Gonna Be All Right (featuring Barry Manilow)

This is yet another remix I worked on at Indaba Music. The grand prize was $5000 (U.S.), but I didn't win. Even though I'm not a Barry Manilow fan at all, I had a great deal of fun doing this one.
My first thought of this when I heard the original was that I could "heavy it up", somewhat like a Rammstein tune, because the percussion track and the s...

Exalted Dirt - One Guitar

This is a contest entry at Indaba Music. Unlike previous entries I've done at Indaba Music, this is a complete rework of the song with many of my own original musical concepts applied to the song. The song is written by Willie Nile, who is trying to make a record with "One Guitar" for the Most Recorded Song in History. The winners of the contest get their...

Exalted Dirt with Demon Hunter - Someone to Hate (remix)
-
This is an entry for a remix contest at Indaba Music. The winner receives $1000 and a copy of the new Demon Hunter album, as well as the honor of having the track placed on a Solid State Records CD.
The percussion, effects, and vocals are mostly intact here, and the guitars and bass are done by Exalted Dirt

This is my first ever CD release. The first several copies of this album (there weren't many) were on audio cassette. If I remember correctly the first copy was made in 1999. It must've been the Christmas of 2001 when I received my first CD recorder, because the CD I ripped the audio from that you hear on this album is dated 2002. This recording was of a muc...

Christian Metal is not dead, just as our Lord is not! This is Corey Finney's attempt at progressive metal, sometimes compared in the past to Metallica or Iron Maiden. The heavy use of keyboard sounds might remind one of bands like Rhapsody (of Fire). "Ska Slam in B" is a sidestep in style, just for the fun of it. "King of the Jews", mainly because of the lyr...
