Puddle of Mudd Frontman Wes Scantlin Arrested for Allegedly Attacking Ex-Wife
Puddle of Mudd frontman Wes Scantlin has been arrested for the second time this month, and this time the charges are quite serious. Earlier in May, Scantlin was arrested on a pair of outstanding warrants — one for driving with a suspended license and the other stemming from a past drug bust — after he was pulled over by police for allegedly speeding. This time around, it was an alleged domestic disturbance that got the attention of Los Angeles police officers.
TMZ reports that the musician was arrested for allegedly roughing up his ex-wife in front of several witnesses. Police were called to a business in West Hollywood, Calif. around 3:30 in the afternoon when they were tipped off to the singer allegedly shaking his ex-wife and the dragging her by the arm or shirt. When police arrived, they spoke to witnesses and the victim before deciding to arrest the vocalist.
Scantlin and his ex-wife have had a tumultuous history. The frontman filed for divorce from model Jessica Nicole Smith in November 2011 and signed the divorce papers in May 2012 with a pair of smiley faces. Earlier this year, Jessica reported her car was missing and sought out Scantlin’s manager to see if the vocalist had any involvement. Though the manager claimed the singer didn’t take the vehicle, it was returned to the location she requested several hours later with some bumper damage and missing a side view mirror.
Scantlin is reportedly in custody with bail set for $20,000.

Katy Perry Joins the Rolling Stones on 'Beast of Burden'
The Rolling Stones have been pulling up an all-star cast of surprise guests to join them on their "50 and Counting" tour, with collaborators ranging from Tom Waits to Gwen Stefani. Last night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Katy Perry joined the band onstage to duet with Mick Jagger on the classic Some Girls hit "Beast of Burden."
The Stones spread the news of the pop star's impending appearance yesterday afternoon on Twitter a few hours before the show. "I'm much obliged & quite honored!" Perry tweeted in reply. After her appearance, which came six songs into the band's set, the exhilarated "Teenage Dream" singer took to the social network again, writing "Yes, I just did gyrated [sic] on Mick Jagger. WHAT?!"

Psy responds to being called 'herpes of music' by Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong
'Gangnam Style' singer Psy has responded to Billie Joe Armstrong, after the Green Day frontman called him "musical herpes".
Armstrong made the comments via his Instagram account yesterday afternoon (May 9), posting a picture of Psy alongside the caption: "This dude is the herpes of music. Once you think it's gone, it comes back. #herpes #flareup #pleasegoaway". Asked by Fuse how he felt about the insult, Psy admitted that he didn't know what herpes was.
Once Psy had it explained to him that herpes is a sexually transmitted disease that is hard to get rid of and often comes back when the person affected thinks it has gone away, the K-pop star responded: "I kinda like it, it's cool. So he's saying I'm like herpes? I should say something to him. What was his name? Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day, he's saying I'm like herpes, it keeps coming back. I think it's really cool and I appreciate that. Thank you."
Armstrong is a frequent user of Instagram but has rarely used it to pass comment on other musicians, preferring instead to share pictures of his bandmates and on-the-road updates.
Last month, Psy put out his new single 'Gentleman', the follow up to his YouTube hit 'Gangnam Style'. The video for the track has been banned by a broadcaster in his native South Korea, who blacklisted the singer for kicking a cone that says "no parking", explaining that the scene didn't meet its standards.
Meanwhile, Green Day played their first major live show since Billie Joe Armstrong's onstage breakdown and subsequent stint in rehab at SXSW earlier this year. The band took to the stage at Austin's Moody Theater, one of the biggest venues being used for this year's South By Southwest festival.

As I Lay Dying Singer arrested in California murder-for-hire sting
The lead singer of Grammy-nominated heavy metal band As I Lay Dying was arrested Tuesday in Southern California as authorities said he tried to hire an undercover detective to kill his estranged wife.
Tim Lambesis, 32, was arrested at a retail business in Oceanside, the San Diego County Sheriff's Department said in a statement.
The statement said detectives received information Thursday that Lambesis had solicited someone to kill his wife, who lives in nearby Encinitas. A task force from several law enforcement agencies quickly launched an investigation that led to the arrest.
The department would give no further details on the investigation.
As I Lay Dying formed in San Diego in 2000 and has released six albums including 2007's "An Ocean Between Us," which reached No. 8 on Billboard's charts. A track from the album was nominated for a Grammy for top metal performance.
It was not clear whether Lambesis had hired an attorney, and a phone message seeking comment left at a number listed in his name was not immediately returned.
According to its website, the band is scheduled to tour the country with several other metal acts starting later this month.

Deftones Perform "Jump" at St. Louis Show in Tribute to Kriss Kross' Chris Kelly
Deftones will make you ‘Jump, Jump.’
Yesterday the music community mourned the loss of Chris “Mac Daddy” Kelly, a member of the rap group Kriss Kross that rose to fame at a very young age in the early ‘90s with their hit single ‘Jump.’ The addictive anthem had an impact far beyond the rap world too, even rock bands like the Deftones took notice.
Last night during their show in St. Louis at The Pageant, Deftones frontman Chino Moreno took a pause during their set to pay homage to Chris Kelly before launching into their own rock-infused rendition of ‘Jump,’ check out the fan-filmed video below to check it out.
Deftones suffered their own tragic loss recently with the passing of bassist Chi Cheng on April 13 after long-term complications following a car crash in 2008.
After an upcoming stop at the Beale Street Music Festival, the Deftones will wrap up their current North American tour run in early May before heading to Australia.

Korn enter studio with Brian "Head" Welch to Record 2013 Album
Korn‘s reconciliation with guitarist Brian ‘Head’ Welch has been taken to the next level, as the band just revealed a video depicting Welch in the studio with Korn. The team of Jonathan Davis, James ‘Munky’ Shaffer, Reginald ‘Fieldy’ Arvizu and Brian ‘Head’ Welch have gathered to record their first album together in 10 years.
Along with drummer Ray Luzier, the classic Korn members have welcomed Welch back into the recording studio to create the follow-up to the group’s 2011 dubstep-infused album, ‘The Path of Totality.’ The new video of Korn, which was released via Rolling Stone, paints the reunion in black and white while ominous music surrounds the story. Words such as “Money, fame, fortune” and “Addiction, depression, separation” pop onto the screen before triumphantly revealing footage of Korn’s full lineup, including Welch, writing music together.
“We knew we would have a blast playing together, because we love each other so much, but we really wanted to make sure the music felt right before we committed to making a whole album together,” Welch tells Rolling Stone. “But since we got in the studio, everything just started pouring out, now I can’t wait until our fans hear this stuff!”
Korn are planning on a late summer 2013 release date for their newest album, which will be their first with Welch since ‘Take a Look in the Mirror’ dropped in 2003. The band, with Head along for the ride, is touring together this year as well, with dates kicking off May 15 in Belle Vernon, Pa.

Guitarist Jeff Hanneman, founding member of heavy metal's Slayer, dies
Grammy-winning guitarist Jeff Hanneman, a founding member of the heavy metal band Slayer, died Thursday of liver failure in Southern California, the band said in a statement.
He was 49.
"Slayer is devastated to inform that their bandmate and brother, Jeff Hanneman, passed away at about 11 a.m. this morning near his Southern California home. Hanneman was in an area hospital when he suffered liver failure," the band said in a statement posted on its website and Facebook page.
Hanneman leaves behind his wife, Kathy, a sister and two brothers.
"He ... will be sorely missed," the band said.
The guitarist was with Slayer from its founding in 1981. Its breakthrough came five years later with the release of "Reign in Blood," an album that included two songs -- "Angel of Death" and "Raining Blood" -- co-written by Hanneman.
That was one of 10 studio albums that the band put out over three decades together, during which they performed thousands of shows.
On Slayer's official website, Hanneman said that the last one -- "World Painted Blood" -- came together quickly because the band's members worked seamlessly.
"The interaction between all of us on this record was really something special," he said. "... The chemistry was just good."
In 2006 and 2007, Slayer won Grammy awards for best metal performance.
The metal world -- in tweets from, among many others, the bands Rancid, Hatebreed, In Flames and Testament -- reacted to Hanneman's death with sadness and appreciation, referring to him as a "true heavy metal legend" and a "brother in thrash."
"Jeff Hanneman will always be a metal god," wrote rocker Andrew WK. "A true master, he gave energy and excitement to millions, and will continue to. #PartyForSlayer."
The news also spurred thousands of diehard fans to comment about Hanneman on Slayer's Facebook page.
Wrote one: "One of the best shredders ever to walk Earth. RIP, good sir."

'Kris Kross’ rapper Chris Kelly dies at 34
Rapper Chris “Mac Daddy” Kelly died Wednesday afternoon after being found unresponsive in his home.
Kelly, 34, was part of the duo “Kris Kross,” known for their backwards clothes and 1992 hit “Jump."
Kelly was found unresponsive and transported to Atlanta Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, a spokeswoman for the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Officer told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The cause of death was not immediately known. An autopsy is planned for Thursday morning.
An Atlanta native, Kelly and the other half of the duo, Chris Smith, were discovered at Greenbriar Mall in 1990 by now-famous entertainer and producer Jermaine Dupri. “Kris Kross” was one of the first acts Dupri signed to his So So Def Records label, and in February, the duo was among many to perform at an anniversary show at the Fox.
Though the catchy “Jump” was the most famous song for “Kris Kross,” the pair also recorded the “Rugrats Rap” for Nickelodeon.

Love this metalhead baby! He is the real deal! We don’t know if his parents should be praised or punished for subjecting him to Pantera‘s ‘F—ing Hostile,’ but what ensues is pure metal gold! This kid is totally into the song. He bangs his head and raises his fists at the exact right moments, and even starts his own circle pit! This June 2011 YouTube clip already has 2 million hits, and rightfully so! Good to know this little guy will be carrying the metal torch for decades to come!

Britain’s Got Talent 2013: MC Boy pushing for I Need You Tonight to reach number one
MC Boy has revealed that his big dream is to push his song ‘I Need You Tonight ‘ to the top of the UK singles chart.
The singer and rapper impressed most of the judges when he auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent recently and while Simon Cowell wasn’t a fan, the others were sure he had a ready made hit on his hands with his self penned tune.
MC Boy won three yeses and a place in the next round, even after Simon said:
“Can I just try to get some sanity back into proceedings. I buzzed you because the song was terrible and the dance wasn’t much better. You made the entire place go insane.”
David Walliams insisted:
“It is a great shame that Simon doesn’t appreciate great music. It was infectious, fun, it has hit written all over it.”
Speaking to the official ITV website, MC Boy is sure David is right and said:
“I think I Need You Tonight could be a number one. I would be happy with a number two.”
He admitted that no one was more shocked by the judges’ praise than he was. he never expected his song to prove so popular and laughed:
“It’s really funny. I really didn’t expect it.
“I do feel a bit like a celebrity today but I haven’t left the house yet. You could say I was in hiding! I’ll probably find out when I go out tonight!”
Before trying out for the ITV show, the London based hopeful told the panel about a strange dream he’d had where he performed for them and Simon buzzed him off stage twice. It very nearly came true.
He revealed that he’s had more related night time fantasies but refused to spill the beans, adding:
“I’ve had a couple of dreams but this is the first time one has come true. I’m not telling you if I’ve had a dream about the final. You’ll have to wait. It’s a secret.”

Congratulations to Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler and guitarist Joe Perry for being honored with the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers and founders award for songwriting. They'll also be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame on June 13.
PopKorn music sends our deepest condolences, thoughts, and prayers to Chi Cheng's family, friends, and bandmates. May he rest in peace.
It is with true sadness that we report that Deftones bassist Chi Cheng passed away early Saturday morning (April 13) after a four-year battle to survive following a car crash in 2008.
The 42-year-old musician had spent most of the time since the accident in a coma, briefly showing signs of consciousness on a couple of occasions. Over the past few years, Deftones have continued to record and perform without Cheng, but had always kept the bassist close to their hearts.
Cheng was seriously hurt on Nov. 4, 2008 when a car he was traveling in with his sister Mae flipped multiple times after hitting another vehicle. His struggle over the past four years was documented by his family at the website OneLoveForChi.com, where the news of his death was posted by his mother on Saturday:
Our dearest Family,
This is the hardest thing to write to you. Your love and heart and devotion to Chi was unconditional and amazing. I know that you will always remember him as a giant of a man on stage with a heart for every one of you. He was taken to the emegency [sic] room and at 3 am today his heart just suddenly stopped. He left this world with me singing songs he liked in his ear.
He fought the good fight. You stood by him sending love daily. He knew that he was very loved and never alone. I will write more later. I will be going through the oneloveforchi and any other information may not be reliable. If you have any stories or messages to share please send them to the onelove site. Please hold Mae and Ming and the siblings and especially Chi’s son, Gabriel in your prayers. It is so hard to let go.
With great love and “Much Respect!” Mom J (and Chi)
Deftones frontman Chino Moreno recently discussed the band’s relationship with Chi, telling Noisecreep, “When I was 17-years-old, I moved out of my parents’ house and moved in with him. We’ve been best friends most of my life. I’ll just be doing some random thing in my life and he’s always in my thoughts. The whole band feels very strongly about him and he’s always been a part of things.”
Back in October, Deftones invited Cheng’s son Gabe to perform with them at a show in Sacramento, Calif. Video of the performance can be seen at http://youtu.be/tnLYWf88vCY.

“Gangnam Style” star Psy’s new music video had received more than 44 million views on YouTube by Monday, re-writing the video-sharing site’s records for single-day hits.
The dance video to “Gentleman”, the South Korean singer’s long-awaited follow up to “Gangnam Style, was only posted on YouTube at 9:00pm (1200 GMT) on Saturday.
In the first 24 hours, it racked up around 20 million hits, destroying the previous record for single-day views of 8.0 million, set by Canadian heartthrob Justin Bieber’s “Boyfriend” video in May 2012.’
Now that record looks set to be stretched again, with the view count 36 hours after release standing at 44.5 million.
The video shows Psy, wearing his signature sunglasses, dancing at various locations in and around Seoul including a high-end clothing store, restaurant, swimming pool and a library.
The story line features the singer teasing and playing practical jokes on women, such as pulling their chairs away as they are about to sit or untying a woman’s bikini top at a swimming pool, before meeting his match.
It was the video of “Gangnam Style”, and in particular Psy’s signature horse-riding dance, that pushed him to global stardom last year after it was posted on YouTube and turned into a viral sensation.
A satire on the luxury lifestyle of Seoul’s upscale Gangnam district, it has become the most-watched YouTube video of all time, registering more than 1.5 billion views since it debuted last July.
“Gentleman” was ranked in the top 10 songs on iTunes stores in a number of countries Monday, including France, Canada, New Zealand, Denmark and Sweden. It also topped the chart in Finland.
“The song isn’t all that great but let’s face it. The video is actually hilarious,” wrote one Youtube commentator.

Kid Rock will be going old school for his upcoming North American summer tour by only charging fans $20 for tickets in all sections of the venues.
The tour is set to kick off on June 28th in Bristow, VA and will conclude on September 15th in Tampa, FL. The trek will feature rotating support from Kool & The Gang, ZZ Top, and Uncle Kracker.
Apart from the bargain price tickets, Kid Rock's camp says they will be "lowering prices on everything from parking to beer to merchandise for every show in every city." He will be offering $20 tour t-shirts as well.
"Everyone knows the economy is still hurting people across the country, but I didn't want that to be a reason why everyone couldn't get out and enjoy themselves on a summer night," says Kid Rock. "So we're going to throw the biggest and best party ever, with prices across the board that are reasonable and transparent. No hidden fees, no gimmicks.
"We're not sparing any expense on this tour, we're going over the top as always, but that doesn't mean we're going to ask the fans to pay more. If this works we're going to play to packed houses of fans who appreciate what we're doing. If it doesn't, might be a long summer. But someone has to go out there and fight these high prices and change things up, and I'm lucky enough that I can afford to take a pay cut. $20. Best night ever."
Fans will be able to purchase the all-in $20 tickets at participating Walmart and Live Nation box office locations where they will not pay any additional fees or parking charges, etc. In addition, Kid Rock will be reserving the first two rows for every show as free upgrades for lucky fans that will be selected at random.
If you purchase tickets through other ticketing outlets, those tickets will carry additional service fees and/or parking fees (where applicable).

R.I.P. to Hate Bassist Slawek "Mortifier" Archangielskij who died during European Tour!
Polish death metal act Hate are in mourning after the death of their bassist Slawek ‘Mortifer’ Archangielskij. The musician passed away near the German town of Munchberg on the night of April 5 while the band was en route to their next gig on their European tour.
Hate, who had been on the road in support of their latest album, ‘Solarflesh,’ posted about the loss of their comrade and stated that they’ll immediately stop their current tour as a result of his death. Archangielskij was also the bass player for Naumachia and the guitarist for Saltus. Both of those bands reposted Hate’s original Facebook message on his passing on their sites as well.
The posting on the bassist’s death reads as follows:
SŁAWEK „MORTIFER” ARCHANGIELSKIJ IS DEAD
At night 5th/6th April near a German town of Munchberg, our friend, best comrade and longtime bass player unexpectedly passed away. After the show in Stuttgart last night he went to sleep and never woke up. We found him lifeless early in the morning and immediately called an ambulance. He was reanimated, but to no avail. Results of Sławek’s autopsy should be known soon. In this situation, we decided to cancel the remaining shows and return home. We gave detailed testimonies to the German police. We are shocked and shattered by his sudden, unexpected death. We mourn together with Slawek’s family and friends.

With that sentiment in mind, Korn have just revealed a batch of tour dates which will feature Head performing headlining U.S. shows with the band for the first time since 2004.
Korn recently announced that Brian ‘Head’ Welch would be joining them for a number of European festival dates this summer, along with U.S. festival gigs at Rock on the Range in Ohio, Rocklahoma in Oklahoma, and Rock Fest in Wisconsin. Now, more fans will be able to check out Korn’s reunion with Head during a series of more intimate headlining U.S. shows in May (see the dates below).
“We’re taking it slow,” Head told us during our recent interview with the guitarist. “I’m just saying anything is possible right now … As far as right now, it’s all good. It’s all good and I’ve never seen my family so positive and healthy and happy.” Head capped his thoughts on a possible permanent reunion with Korn by offering the line, “Hearts change, and reconciliation is now.”
Along with interviewing Head, we extended an invite for him to be a guest columnist for Loudwire, which the Korn guitarist and Love & Death frontman graciously accepted. “I’d really like to journal where this road back to Korn carries me,” Welch wrote in his inaugural ‘HeAd’s KoRner’ column. “I’d love for all of you to travel with me back into the family that I left behind so long ago. I’d love for you to be with me as I return to the boys to see if this idea totally crashes, or turns into a long-term thing — either is very possible at this point to be totally honest.”
Check out Korn’s updated U.S. tour itinerary with Brian ‘Head’ Welch below:
Korn 2013 U.S. Tour Dates with Brian ‘Head’ Welch:

Linkin Park have always put as much passion into their worldwide charitable causes as they have their musical endeavors, and now singer Chester Bennington will be honored for those efforts by MusiCares.
The ninth annual MusicCares MAP Fund benefit concert, set for May 30 at Club Nokia in Los Angeles, has announced that Bennington will receive the Stevie Ray Vaughan Award for both his commitment to helping addicts in their recovery process and his longstanding support for the MusiCares MAP Fund.
The MusicCares MAP Fund provides critical access to addiction recovery treatment for members of the music community regardless of their financial status. Bennington has nothing but praise for what they do, saying, “MusiCares MAP Fund is an amazing program that takes care of their own, and actually saves lives.” He continues, “It’s been so rewarding to support them and see firsthand what they’ve accomplished for so many artists.”
In addition to Bennington, MusiCares will also honor legendary skateboarder Tony Alva, who was famously chronicled in the documentary ‘Dogtown and Z-Boys.’ He will receive the MusiCares’ From the Heart award.
Neil Portnow, the President/CEO of the Recording Academy and MusiCares spoke about Bennington and Alva, explaining, “Chester and Tony are passionate and highly influential artists in their respective professions and each of them has achieved impressive and much-deserved success. What unites them around the mission of MusiCares is their willingness to lend their time and talents to raise funds for our organization, and their desire to be of service to music people struggling with addiction. We truly appreciate their steadfast support and committed generosity.”
Bennington is in good company. Last year, Alice in Chains co-founder Jerry Cantrell took home the Stevie Ray Vaughan Award.
Fans hoping to attend the event can purchase limited general admission tickets starting April 5 at http://www.axs.com/.

Interested? David Lee Roth Insured His Private Part!
In an interview earlier this week, Van Halen frontman David Lee Roth surprised no one by revealing that he’d had his penis insured by Lloyd’s of London.
Addressing a rumor that he had his entire body insured, he pointed out that he had, in fact, only insured “Little Elvis.” He mentioned that this was a case of, “Get out of the way of a good rumor.”
He said that before the band went on an early tour, “We had to insure [guitarist] Edward’s fingers, since he will be using those a lot on the road, and [drummer] Alex Van Halen’s elbows. So I said, ‘What about Little Elvis? We’re going to be using him a lot.”
While it’s apparent how Edward Van Halen’s fingers and Alex Van Halen’s elbows contributed to the band (or at least it’s sound), Roth didn’t make it clear exactly what “Little Elvis” added to Van Halen’s sound; his swagger, however, is another story.
Roth then mimed in the voice of “Little Elvis,” saying, “Thank you very much.”
Van Halen, presumably with “Little Elvis” (who may still be insured), plays Australia’s Stone Festival on April 20.

Foreigner mainman Mick Jones and ex-singer Lou Gramm will share a stage in June for the first time in a decade – putting a long and bitter feud behind them.
They’re reuniting for their induction into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame – and Gramm says it was easy to finally pick up the phone and call his former colleague as they’re being recognised for the creation of world-class tracks including Feels Like The First Time, Cold As Ice, Hot Blooded and Juke Box Hero.
The vocalist tells Artisan News: “I’ve talked with Mick for the first time in over ten years. He seems to be doing well; his health has improved quite a bit.
“It wasn’t so difficult, considering we were both being honoured as a songwriting team. I called him and congratulated him, then he congratulated me.
“We both knew they were expecting us to perform a couple of songs and we got right down to talking about it. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”
Gramm left Foreigner in 2003, citing Jones’ inability to keep away from alcohol as the main reason. He later said he’d felt like a sideman during much of his time with the band, and in 2009 he told Smashing Interviews that Jones had deliberately elbowed him out of writing credits for hit track I Want To Know What Love Is. He separately suggested Jones had sabotaged the release of his 1991 Shadow King album by applying pressure to their mutual record label.
In 2011 he said the lineup of Foreigner featuring his replacement Kelly Hansen was “false advertising,” adding: “He’s put a new band together, and is calling it Foreigner. And that’s all well and good, but unless I’m singing, it’s not.”
For his part, Jones felt he had good reason for continuing under the name. He said: “Through the 90s Lou and I were really not seeing eye-to-eye. I always felt Lou was far more interested in doing a solo career. So I’d been fighting a long time. I just wanted to resuscitate the band and see if I could really present the band I felt Foreigner deserved to be.”
Jones suffered a heart attack last year. Gramm, who formed the Lou Gramm Band in 2004, underwent a brain tumour operation in 1997 and remains on medication for diabetes.
Aerosmith writing team Steven Tyler and Joe Perry will also be inducted into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame at the ceremony in New York on June 13.

The rumors and speculation have been put to rest: The Rolling Stones have confirmed their headline appearance at the Glastonbury festival on Saturday, June 29.
“Can’t wait to play Glastonbury,” tweeted Mick Jagger on Wednesday. “I have my wellies and my yurt!”
“We all had such a ball last year, and the energy between the band is so good,” added Keith Richards. “We can’t wait to play Glastonbury, see you on a summer’s day in England!”
Tickets for the event have already sold out.
The Stones’ festival appearance follows what is expected to be an 18-date arena tour of North American starting in early May.
Concert industry magazine Pollstar recently reported the band will work with promoter AEG Live on the dates, which are still being confirmed with an announcement expected in early April.
AEG Live takes the reins of the long-rumored tour from Virgin Live, a joint venture formed between Australia’s Paul Dainty and Virgin Group’s Richard Branson last fall to produce and promote the band’s 50th anniversary run.
The 2013 dates would be the band's first tour since 2005-2007's “A Bigger Bang.”

New Jersey alternative/punk/emo rock band My Chemical Romance have decided to break up after their 12-year career, including four studio albums and the recent compilation of previously scrapped songs called "Conventional Weapons."
The band wrote on their official website:
"Being in this band for the past 12 years has been a true blessing. We’ve gotten to go places we never knew we would. We’ve been able to see and experience things we never imagined possible. We’ve shared the stage with people we admire, people we look up to, and best of all, our friends. And now, like all great things, it has come time for it to end. Thanks for all of your support, and for being part of the adventure."
Singer Gerard Way posted on his own Twitter account, "Beyond any sadness, what I feel the most is pride.
Lady Gaga to record jazz album with Tony Bennett
Lady Gaga may be on the mend from her recent hip surgery, but she’s still at work with music projects, including an upcoming jazz album with the legendary Tony Bennett.
"We're working on it from now until June, and then we'll record in June. She's phenomenal," Bennett told Rolling Stone during a dinner at the Amy Winehouse Gala and Inspiration Awards, which recognized him with a Lifetime Achievement honor. "I get along great with her. She's looking forward to it and so am I."
Inspired by their lone collaboration, "The Lady Is a Tramp" for Bennett's "Duets II" album, the pair plan to expand on their relationship when they enter a studio in Astoria, Queens.
"Once you have an idea, then you go for it," Bennett said. While they have not settled on a producer, Dae Bennett and Phil Ramone worked on the 2011 song.

Bauhaus Murphy charged with hit-and-run, drugs possession
Bauhaus singer Peter Murphy has pleaded not guilty to charges of hit-and-run, driving under the influence of drugs and drugs possession.
He was arrested in Glendale, California, at the weekend, following an incident in which he’s alleged to have injured another motorist while driving, then fleeing the scene. He was followed by an eyewitness, who used his own vehicle to block any further escape, telling Glendale Police Department that “he was afraid he would kill someone with his driving.”
The incident took place just before noon on Saturday. Murphy is accused of striking a car, driving round it and leaving the scene. The wounded driver was able to note his license plate number and another witness took a photo of his damaged vehicle.
The Glendale News Press reports officers describing the singer as “very confused,” having difficulty recalling the day and time. He admitted to having taken his prescription pills for depression and to feeling jet-lagged after a flight.
Investigators found a bag believed to contain crystal meth in the police car where Murphy had been held. He denied ownership.
Bail was set at $500,000 on Monday as he was considered a flight risk. But a judge allowed him to be released on his own recognition after entering his not guilty plea on Tuesday. His lawyer, Robert Wilson, argued that keeping him in jail would have disrupted his upcoming tour commitments to many businesses. He’ll return to court on May 17 for a pretrial hearing.
Goth rock pioneers Bauhaus formed in 1978 and were active until 1983. They regrouped in 1998 then again in 2005 before splitting three years later. Murphy, who recently released a solo album entitled Ninth, embarks on a tour celebrating 35 years of Bauhaus on April 22, with five UK dates taking place between June 14 and 19.

Pink halts gig to comfort crying fan
Pink stopped halfway through an acoustic version of 'Who Knew' at a concert in Philadelphia to comfort a young girl who was crying.
Maternal instincts kicked in for Pink, herself a mother to 21 month old daughter Willow, on Sunday night when she noticed the young girl crying in the audience.
'Is everything okay right here? Is this little girl all right? Why is she crying? Why is she upset?' asked the singer, after gesturing to her guitarist to stop the song.
'Because there was a fight?' she responded, as audience members explained. 'You all are fighting around a little girl?'
As the crowd reacted to the explanation, the Philadelphia native softened a bit. 'C'mon.all right, all right, I know, everyone's about to fight. I know, I'm from here.'
She offered her young fan, who was dressed all in pink, a toy frog and Rice Krispie treat, with nearby audience members passing them back to the girl, who was still looking quite apprehensive.
'You're beautiful, don't cry. Cry when you're older,' she quipped, before making a hugging gesture. 'Thank you for coming.'
As she went to return to her song, which she started from the top, she gave the crowd her final thoughts on the matter.
'Cut it out, y'all,' she said. 'We're grown-ass women.'
Check out some of the audience-shot footage of the incident below.

Kiss paid tribute to a murdered fan during their concert in Australia at the weekend.
Shandee Blackburn, who was named after the band’s track Shandi, died by stabbing last month in the small city of Mackay, Queensland.
Frontman Paul Stanley reduced her family to tears when he told the crowd: “I think everybody knows about a girl called Shandee Blackburn. We lost her. We wish she could be here with us – so why don’t we sing little something for her, all of us?”
Her mum, Vicki, told News.com.au: “I wasn’t looking forward to the concert. It was just another one of those days where she should have been there.”
Tickets for the show had been part of Shandee’s birthday present. Vicki explained: “One of the detectives said that his interpretation of Shandee was that she would have told me to go out and have fun and enjoy the night.”
She admits she was moved after the audience joined in during the acoustic version of Shandi. “It was just really sweet. At the end Paul said, ‘Let’s say goodnight and goodbye to Shandee.’ I wasn’t crying at all until then. It was a very special moment.”
Investigating officers remain interested in anyone who may have seen anything suspicious on the night of February 9 around 12.30am in Mackay.

David Bowie has landed his first UK number 1 album in 20 years!
The Official Charts Company reports Bowie’ s “The Next Day” also becomes the fastest selling UK album of 2013 to date.
David’s new album, his first new material in nearly a decade, is his first chart topper since 1993’s “Black Tie White Noise,” and has this week notched up sales of over 94,000 copies to claim the title of the fastest selling album of the year so far. The title was previously held by Biffy Clyro’s “Opposites,” which sold 71,600 copies during its opening week back in January.
Bowie outsells the second highest new entry of the week – Bon Jovi’s “What About Now” at number 2 - by more than two copies to one.
The music legend recently released a video for “The Stars (Are Out Tonight),” the second single from the album; the clip features actress Tilda Swinton and Bowie as a nice, middle-aged couple.

Green Day Return to Stage for First Time Since Billie Joe Armstrong’s Rehab Stint
Back in September, frontman Billie Joe Armstrong had an onstage meltdown during Green Day‘s set at the iHeartRadio concert in Las Vegas. Soon after, he entered rehab to battle alcohol and prescription drug addiction, forcing the band to cancel their remaining 2012 dates and to postpone their winter 2013 gigs.
On Sunday night (March 10), Green Day performed their first show since Armstrong’s rehab stint, playing a 22-song set for fans in Pomona, Calif. The gig was light on tunes from the band’s recent album trilogy — ‘¡Uno!,’ ‘¡Dos!’ and ‘¡Tré!’ – instead focusing on the band’s catalog of well-known hits and old-school favorites.

Motley Crue’s Vince Neil had surgery Sunday in Sydney, Australia following a severe attack of kidney stones.
“Hey guys, I just woke here in Sydney,” explains bassist Nikki Sixx. “As many have heard we had to cut our set short by 4 songs last night due to Vince being in severe pain on stage. He was doubled over on his dressing room floor 5 minutes till show time and was told by the promoter to not even play but Vince said he couldn’t do that to the fans. I’ve seen Vinnie go onstage with broken bones, his voice completely blown out and torn ligaments but he never ever cancels…Just like an athlete you sometimes have to play through the pain but last night it became to excruciating.”
“I was texting with Vince most of the night last night as he was just waiting for the doctor to come back with the test results,” Sixx continued. “This morning we found out he had to be admitted into surgery to remove kidney stones. He just got out 5 minutes ago and the doctors said everything went well in the operating room. I am going to the hospital to see him before I head to Brisbane.”
Vince updated fans following the procedure, writing, “Just out of surgery. Spent night in hospital probably have to again tonight. Thank you all for the kind words and prayers. Doc says I should have a full recovery and be back onstage for the Brisbane show tomorrow. Thanks to my bandmates and crew for your support!”
The Crue are currently on an Australian tour with KISS and openers Thin Lizzy.

MARILYN MANSON OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCES JOINT TOUR WITH ALICE COOPER
The rumors are true! Marilyn Manson has officially confirmed that he will be touring this summer with the original shock rocker Alice Cooper. Though a full itinerary has yet to be unveiled, Manson announced today (March 8) via his website that the trek is definitely happening along with revealing three tour dates.
The ‘Masters of Madness: Shock Therapy Tour 2013′ will hit Salt Lake City, Utah, on June 4, St. Charles, Mo., on June 25 and Rockford, Ill., on June 28. So far, venues for the three stops have not been revealed, though the previously leaked Salt Lake City date had it taking place at the USANA Amphitheater. In addition to those three dates, Pollstar is reporting a June 23 stop at Pittsburgh’s Stage AE. More dates should be announced soon.
Earlier this week, Cooper’s website unveiled a poster revealing the trek and baring a photo of the two rockers, which started the buzz that the pair would team up. This pairing would be the completion of the shock rocker circle. In the past, Cooper has toured with Rob Zombie. Last fall, Zombie and Manson joined forces for the ‘Twins of Evil‘ tour and now, Cooper and Manson will share stages together.
According to Cooper’s posting earlier this week, the trek will feature an impressive VIP package for his fans. The supposed package included a meet-and-greet with Cooper, having your photo taken with the legendary rocker, receiving an autographed setlist, a tote bag, souvenir laminate, t-shirt, poster, and a $50 webstore coupon. Plus, the package included early entry into the venue and a chance to appear onstage with Cooper during the show.
Marilyn Manson / Alice Cooper ‘Masters of Madness’ 2013 Tour Dates (so far):
6/4 — Salt Lake City, Utah
6/23 — Pittsburgh, Pa. [via Pollstar]
6/25 — St. Charles, Mo.

Axl Rose dismisses classic Guns N’ Roses reunion talk
As Guns N’ Roses prepare to kick off their Australian tour in Perth on Saturday, leader Axl Rose has given a rare interview to Adelaide Now to promote the shows.
Among the subjects discussed in the session are the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame induction that Axl boycotted, the possibility of new GNR music in 2013, the late starts to the band’s shows and, of course, talk about a classic GNR reunion.
“I understand the ‘romantic’ thing, the desire, the fantasy,” says Rose. “Personally, I haven't wanted other bands to reunite, or really enjoyed it when they have. For me generally something always seemed missing.”
“But Guns is my life, not someone else's,” he continued. “For me there hasn't been a way to make any type of reunion work regardless of money (either talk or legitimate) without jeopardizing what I feel is the well-being and best interests of nearly everyone I'm involved with in the GNR camp (including myself). People here have big investments of their lives in what we're doing. We've worked hard for what we have here now and continue to do so. I know what I went thru then. I know what I and all of us have gone thru since. People enjoyed the product and the entertainment our lives gave them back in the day, but they weren't the ones actually living those lives together. It's not somewhere I'd go back to or would want to go again. Life's too short.”

Randy Blythe Reacts To Not Guilty Verdict In Manslaughter Case
Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe has posted his reaction to being found not guilty of manslaughter charges in the Czech Republic yesterday.
Blythe as usual took to his Instagram account to share his feelings with fans after the verdict was handed down. He wrote, I have been found not guilty & acquitted of all charges against me. I am a free man.
The posting was accompanied by a photograph of a hallway with Blyth leading against a wall with people rushing by and on a beam above the people is a sign that says "Just Go Home."
He said of the photo, "This photo was taken by my friend @aceyslade- it says it all.." He then concluded with "Please remember the family of Daniel Nosek in your thoughts & prayers in this difficult time. I only wish for them peace. Thank you for your support- Randy"
Blythe was accused of causing injuries which led to the death of a fan during a gig in Prague in 2010.

Bizarre Nine Inch Nails + Carly Rae Jepsen Mashup Surfaces Online
Just like Forrest Gump’s box of chocolates, the craze of music mashups tells us you never know what you’re going to get. Sometimes tracks you could never imagine sync up in perfect absurd harmony, and that’s the case with a new mashup from an artist going by the name PomDeter. The mixmaster has decided to take the Nine Inch Nails classic ‘Head Like a Hole’ and put it together with the recent ubiquitous Carly Rae Jepsen hit ‘Call Me Maybe.’
Production-wise, the track dubbed ‘Call Me a Hole’ works surprisingly well, with Trent Reznor‘s angst-ridden lyrics laying perfectly into the Jepsen music bed. But that’s also where things get a little weird. You can feel the emotion of Reznor’s vocal delivery perhaps even more in the song, but it’s hard to get too pulled down into mire of his melancholy with strings so infectiously catchy.
For instance, hearing the harsh line, “Head like a hole / Black as your soul / I’d rather die than give you control” against the really poppy, bouncy beats takes some of the sting out the hurt unveiled by Reznor laying his soul bare. Plus, if anything, the kids on ‘Dance Party USA‘ might be able to work their moves a little easier than they did with ‘Down In It’ back in the day.
Reznor says in the song, “Bow down before the one you serve / You’re going to get what you deserve,” but we’re guessing he probably never had this in mind. Take a listen to the Nine Inch Nails / Carly Rae Jepsen mashup of ‘Call Me a Hole’ below!
